This bag is beyond gorgeous! When we were in Guatemala last year, we spent the day with the cooperative of women who weave and hand dye this fabric. It was an amazing lesson in the intricate process of creating the Ikat patterns. Weaving skills and ikat pattern tying are passed from one generation to the next and take a lifetime to master. Each bag is large enough for a night away, would make a very stylish diaper bag, briefcase or even an extra large purse, if you are a person who likes to carry everything she might need for a day out and about. The bag will stand up on it's own when you set it down, thanks to the sturdy base and bottom rivets. Genuine leather handles and shoulder strap. 20" wide x 14" tall, 7.5" base. One inside zipper pocket, one exterior zipper pocket. Everyone deserves to own one of these. Give it as a Holiday gift that will never be forgotten.
Handcrafted by Mayan women working with Maya Traditions Foundation in Panajachel, Guatemala.
