The Buy The Change Foundation, a registered 501©3 non-profit corporation, was founded in 2013 to work in cooperation with our Buy The Change retail business. BTC donates a portion of every web-sale to the Foundation.
In 2013 we supported the Nepali Youth Foundation Indentured Daughters Program. In 2014 our Board of Directors initiated the Grassroots Grants Program, giving monetary grants to women artisans for the purpose of eliminating barriers to business and family success. In 2018 we made the decision to begin giving microloans through KIVA which continued through 2019 and now into 2020. Loans are focused in four specific categories including: Business Building for Women, Education for Girls, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Health and Medical needs.
Grants awarded have included sewing machines for women in Haiti, Uganda and India, water filters for families in Guatemala, work tables for women in India, expansion of a feeding center kitchen in Haiti, metal working machinery for a family run workshop in Cambodia, school tuition for girls in Cambodia and more.
